Monks taking Notes Monks engaged in independent lab work during the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative summer program.

Must the domains of science and spirituality be at odds? Or could a greater convergence between the two provide new resources and insights to help humanity meet the challenges before us?

We are privileged to have a highly distinguished panel of speakers, who will lead an informative discussion on the possibilities and practicalities of a greater convergence of science and spirituality, and how the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative, a landmark undertaking to introduce comprehensive science education for Tibetan monastics, is working to fulfill this vision of H.H. the Dalai Lama.

Proceeds from this event will establish an endowment for The Emory-Tibet Science Initiative, a program that is developing and implementing a comprehensive science education curriculum for Tibetan monks and nuns at the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This is an enormous undertaking, and will require significant human and financial resources to ensure that it achieves its full potential. The project has made substantial strides over the past two years, but much work remains to be done. We hope you will support this meaningful project as generously as you can.
